LoL , nvidia just screwed up the msi 60hz ulmb version, with this massive flicker is just unusablebrownvim wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026, 13:44I think the MSI version doesn’t have the option, I mentioned I thought it was odd a reviewer said the 60hz mode was too dim on the MSI model here:BLooDS_inc wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026, 13:34Idk what's going on clearly, im update the fw when monitor comes up yesterday and i can't find where i can set pulse width for 60hz ulmb mode on my msi 272qrf x36. I think this is a BUG or whatever this is, or I'm rlly blind.
Turn off gsync - set 60hz, turn ulmb on, turn 60hz ulmb on and i don't have pulse width setting in the osd

It seems like Nvidia hasn’t added the option yet for that version oddly.

Might also explain why you’re seeing quite a lot of flicker but hard to judge.

I'm so glad I went with the Asus version XD I would have been so upset not to get access to pulse width adjustment on the MSI version. I feel like this product needed more time to cook but nvidia knew they already delayed it twice and a third time would just lead to significantly less people buying it given how cheap OLED monitors are getting now. I really hope they address these firmware bugs across all the manufacturers and employ some of the quality of life suggestions we gave. I actually use gsync pulsar at 10% brightness or less, I think they really should have a mode to half the pulse width in exchange for more clarity and less brightness. Still looking forward to the next firmware update "coming soon" (tm) lol

feels the same, that they took it so long to update FW and this bugs, literally now msi have worst ever fw across all 4 monitors, cause feature of this update is 60 hz and u cant use it cause massive flickerliquidshadowfox wrote: ↑17 Apr 2026, 14:21I'm so glad I went with the Asus version XD I would have been so upset not to get access to pulse width adjustment on the MSI version. Re: NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor - Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV
Honestly, I was going to buy the MSI version because I have an all MSI build (love MSI, hate asus armory crate) but the light sensor at the top on the MSI model was a no go for my setup because I have a monitor sitting above my main monitor. I want to roll back to previous firmware for the improved clarity at higher refresh rates BUT compensation pulse engages too often on the old firmware to make it consistent even with an FPS cap so I'm kinda stuck on this newest firmware until they fix the double imaging. I'm hoping it'll clear up higher refresh rate strobing as well since maybe some of the frame times fall between that 100 hz - 180 hz window that might be causing the compensation pulse to ruin the 200 hz + range but that's me being optimistic.

I'll need to do a bit more testing myself but is this approach (gsync ON, vsync OFF, ullm ON, framecap 349/350) recommended as the way to use Pulsar?
I've been using the standard Gsync on, Vsync on, Reflex on (in game) and FPS cap at 326 in NVApp to catch anything else - but happy to play around and find the best way to enjoy Pulsar!

With vsync on my 1% fps are bouncing hard so im play without it, yesterday trying the rtss framecap, it's good, but anything except reflex cap in rtss give u 1 frame of latency, so i tried gsyncON-vsyncOFF-ullm just ON-rtss framecap type reflex for 349fps and it's very smooth and feel's like u have minimal latency, Nvidia overlay shows me the 0.9-1.2ms latency, try this settings and choose what u liket2na wrote: ↑18 Apr 2026, 08:42I'll need to do a bit more testing myself but is this approach (gsync ON, vsync OFF, ullm ON, framecap 349/350) recommended as the way to use Pulsar?

P.s. still w8 for the new FW for MSI monitor to check how good 60hz ulmb is, cause now it's BUGGED and u can't change the pulse width, so it's unusable cause of massive flicker, can someone push this to the Nvidia? Idk where we can submit any bug reports for the pulsar monitors

Apparently Nvidia are being quite active looking at various forums etc. where Pulsar is being discussed so you'd hope this is one place they'd be keeping an eye on it.BLooDS_inc wrote: ↑18 Apr 2026, 09:41With vsync on my 1% fps are bouncing hard so im play without it, yesterday trying the rtss framecap, it's good, but anything except reflex cap in rtss give u 1 frame of latency, so i tried gsyncON-vsyncOFF-ullm just ON-rtss framecap type reflex for 349fps and it's very smooth and feel's like u have minimal latency, Nvidia overlay shows me the 0.9-1.2ms latency, try this settings and choose what u liket2na wrote: ↑18 Apr 2026, 08:42I'll need to do a bit more testing myself but is this approach (gsync ON, vsync OFF, ullm ON, framecap 349/350) recommended as the way to use Pulsar?

@brownvim has been really great at drawing TFTCentral's attention to a few things which have been passed to Nvidia directly so it does seem like they're open to feedback. The MSI one is odd, is that the only model that doesn't let you change pulse width? I've got the Asus model so I know I can do it on that one - and others with the Acer have confirmed they can do it too.
Thanks for your note about the settings, I'll give that a go to see which feels better to use.
Unrelated - but has anyone had their monitor occasionally boot up in 240hz 8 bit mode? If I restart my PC it will support 360hz (and 10 bit) - but it's like occasionally the monitor / GPU forgets about DSC so just goes to the max supported over DP 1.4

When I'm start PC my monitor shows 240hz, but when windows loads out it always shows 360hz, mb another bug or mb u have rtx 40xx or 30xx, this cards have vary bugs with dsc

I don't mean to sound rude, but I almost wish that nvidia was ignoring this thread. Besides all the negativity directied at these monitors It seems like a lot of folks here want it to be this retro/console 60Hz monitor and that was not its purpose according to it's marketing. It's specificaly for high frame rate esports first person shooters and any other high fps games that could benefit from low motion blur like racing games. It works great for me using it with Battlefield 6 and other FPS games.
I hope nvidia keeps it's focus on making it the best of what it's supposed to be. Not a jack of all trades montior, but one that does what it's suppoed to do and does it well. If they can tweak it to make retro/console 60Hz stuff better with no negative impact to it's main fuction then that's great as well. But any improvements should first be directed at it's main function IMO.

feel the same, but wanna try the 60hz mode for movies and films with loseless scaling, just why not? im already use it with 360hz pulsar and its amazing, just wanna try this, but anyway i agree, nvidia need to push pulsar and ulmb2 mode to the higher state possible for what this monitor is purposerexbinary wrote: ↑18 Apr 2026, 15:26I don't mean to sound rude, but I almost wish that nvidia was ignoring this thread.
