3 year long issue of of delay possibly electricity related

I've been chasing this input lag/delay issue for a long time now, and at this point I feel like I've tried almost everything imaginable.

I've switched ISPs, tested different modems and routers, done fresh Windows installs more times than I can count, optimized BIOS settings, tested different GPUs, CPUs, RAM, SSDs, monitors, mice, keyboards, cables you name it. I even upgraded to OLED monitors and built a much higher end PC because I thought hardware might be the issue. I've spent thousands of dollars trying to isolate this problem.

Lately, I've been focusing heavily on the electrical side because it's one of the few areas left that could explain what I'm experiencing. I've done a ton of electrical troubleshooting and research, checking outlets, circuits, power quality, and trying different power setups.

One thing I found out recently completely surprised me: I always assumed my house had grounding rods, but apparently it doesn't. I never even questioned it because I figured every home had them.

So tomorrow I have an electrician coming out. They're going to install a whole-house surge protector at my breaker panel, redo the breaker panel with new breakers, clean up and reorganize all the wiring, and make sure everything is installed properly. I'm also having them check the grounding situation and get everything up to code if needed.

I'm not saying this is definitely the cause of my input lag, but after exhausting software, networking, hardware, and just about every optimization imaginable, the electrical system seems like one of the last major variables worth investigating.

I'm curious how many of you actually know whether your house has grounding rods? Is that something you've ever checked, or did you just assume they were there like I did? If you've had electrical work done to improve PC performance or reduce strange issues, I'd be interested in hearing about your experience.

Why don't you wait for the electrician and write the post after that? By the way, what exactly is your problem, what kind of input lag? There are so many types of it.
