Hi,
I have been trying to figure out for 2 years now whats going on and why my eye hurts (lower eyelid) with new 'gaming' monitors. I also went to multiple eye doctors and nothing is wrong with my eye. I have some dry eye but get treated for that, and dont have problems with my old monitor and work monitor. My old monitor was a 1080P, 24 inch monitor and I tried only newer 27 inch 1440P monitors.
So far I tried the following monitors:
- LG 27GP850 (Nano IPS)
- Dell G2724D (IPS)
- ASUS XG27WCS (VA)
- AOC Q27G3XMN (VA, I still own this one cause I didnt return it on time).
- ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQM5A (IPS)
- KTC H27E6 (IPS)
I still own the Asus VG248QE (24 inch TN) which gives me 0 eye strain. Also the monitors at work (Dell U2415) give me 0 eye strain. They are a bit older, so maybe something is going on with some new tech.. I also use low brightness, f.lux, etc etc. Like I said, i have been trying to figure everything out for 2 years now..

I am looking for a high refresh rate (240hz+) 27 inch IPS monitor which i Use mainly for work (working from home) and gaming (mostly CS2). I saw some recs from Kyube and also the big page he has with recs, but I also saw the KTC H27E6 in between the list of recommended monitors which still gives me eye strain.
I want to try the M27UP now (4k, 1080p) dual mode if its something that has to do with resolution..
I am open to try out anything (except OLED cause I dont wanna have a risk of burn in, or the feeling that it might occur). Maybe a YAG monitor however the options are limited...
Can someone push me in the right direction to try out more monitors over time? It has been a long journey so far.

All of those LCD's you've tried are KSF (PFS) WLED based displays
If you want QHD +240Hz YAG-based display (older narrow color gamut WLED backlight), get one of the following models:
The ASUS XG27AQNGV / ACER XB273UKF5 / MSI 272QRF / AOC AG276QSG2 (Pulsar panels)
The majority of other models in the QHD image res category are comprised of KSF (PFS) with seldom QD-based options, which I'll outline below as “alternatives”:
Alternatives: XQ2566X(QD TN 360Hz), MSI X30MV (QD VA 300Hz), ACER XB273UKF (QD IPS 300Hz, EU-specific), TCL 25P2A Pro (QD IPS 360Hz), TCL 27P2A Pro (QD IPS 320 Hz), Titan Army P245MS Pro / P275MS Pro (MiniLED Titan Army displays are QD-based) & a few others on the market.
In the FHD sphere, all BenQ/Zowie models are either YAG or QD-based. Other vendors, in the FHD image res category, vary between YAG & KSF/PFS, with seldom QD models (like the TCL 25G64)
The highest refresh rate YAG-based FHD model is the Zowie XL2566X+, which is the successor to the Zowie XL2566K (also YAG)
The 540/600Hz Zowie model is QD-based.
Old 360Hz GSYNC module displays (PG259QN, AG254FG, AW2521H & others) are all YAG-based.
Everything else thats ≥360Hz FHD IPS is KSF-based IIRC.
In the 4K sphere, you got the KTC M27P6, MSI E16M, AOC U27G4XM and a few others (majority of MiniLED's are QD-based). No YAG in here.
The UW segment is probably the most ridiculous one... QD-based options are as rare as it gets. The only one I know of is the old XG341C-2K
A few other ones can be seen here, most of which are not on the market anymore or haven't been released to the western market.
I don't see where I've recommended the KTC H27E6?...
