NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor - Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, ToastyX, black frame insertion (BFI), and now framerate-based motion blur reduction (framegen / LSS / etc).

VRR will very likely works on Switch 2 since Pulsar monitors have HDMI 2.1 ports, even the Asus site states that VRR works on PS5 and Xbox consoles.

That's regular VRR tho, NOT Pulsar, in that case you can use it only via Nvidia GPUs.

Now, the Switch 2 is a Nvidia machine... could they do something specific for Pulsar monitors?
Maybe in theory, but Pulsar is too niche to do such a thing, it's already a miracle that the Switch 2 dock got VRR support.

Pulsar doesn't work over HDMI so it's stuck to display port only atm.

This is the best firmware update for high refresh rate Pulsar clarity so far. Very impressive.

Notes:
  • 1/60sec shutter, taken as photos (not video frames).
  • Selected px/sec speeds also match real speed at 240Hz
  • Image retention from having pursuit cam test on earlier does show in these images especially center of the screen in the crosstalk test

Crosstalk performance at 240 is seriously impressive. I don't know if there's other monitors out currently that can balance this low persistence, with this low crosstalk at this refresh rate while not giving you TN colors.

Oh also forgot to mention, I can confirm this issue was finally fixed for Linux users on version 615 of the NV drivers after... 8 months. Better late than never! :mrgreen:

Do you think that's impossible fo Nvidia to lower the minimum nits of Pulsar (100-120) in the future due to technical issue with the scrolling?

50 nits as minimum would be perfect for me and from what I saw ULMB can achieve that but Pulsar is the cool part of it, just wanted to know if it isn't worth waiting fo this to happen and just look at different solutions.

You could in theory hook up pulsar to the lowest latency capture card (+16ms), and then use puredarks mod that allows reflex and MFG into the capture card pipeline (his mod generates the correct depth maps/etc) , and you could run console games at MFG + Pulsar + Dlss 5. Creating something completely unrecognizable from what the consoles themselves are pulling off.

In the QHD sphere? Not that I know of. It's mighty impressive results, considering that QHD/4K high refresh rate models are plagued by KSF fringing.
Could you do some PW=30 or PW=40 pursuits? I believe those 2 should be around 100-150cd/m², which is a usable brightness target to be at.
~50cd/m² (PW=10) is somewhat unusable IMO.
If you have a way to map out brightness levels on each PW target (steps of 10, 10-100), that'd also be nice. Either with a smartphone or a external device.

Ideally, you'd find the ~1 px of blur target of each PW setting on 240Hz & 360Hz by choosing different TestUFO speeds till you find the correct one.
In the case of PW=10 @ 240/360Hz, I'd argue that it's definitely ~0,5ms pulse on-time (~2000 Hz effective motion clarity)
Based on TestUFO pursuit photographs, I could plot out the performance in a new, empirically correct graph.

Wild idea minus that trash of DLSS 5 :D
I wonder if someone actually pulled of something like that.
