But if you want a monitor to last forever and you don't want to use blur reduction, why not buy an IPS?
You can't have your cake and eat it too. I understand what you're coming from, though.

Just turn off blur reduction if not in use. That's all I can suggest. Don't let the fear of a 'degraded' lifetime turn you off from using blur reduction. It's best to not be afraid of ghosts.

FYI I've had my 2720Z monitor for 8 months now. I've had it on 24/7 EVERY day and keep blur reduction on 24/7.
Still works as good as ever. And I can't see a reduction in the backlight levels (Hell, it's too BRIGHT at 100% brightness without blur reduction, anyway....looks like a freaking floodlight in pitch black).

LED's are not like normal bulb lights. They don't just blow up if you turn them on or off.
Your best bet is to do your own research on LED backlights and LED technology yourself. Maybe even a DYI test panel so you can test tolerances. I really don't know. I Just play games.

Stop worrying and enjoy your new panel!

I'm going to sound ignorant here, but are there any NATIVE 120Hz IPS panels on the market? I wasn't aware of any besides the overclocked ones.

I do want to use blur reduction, I just didn't know what I was sacrificing to have it, (input lag, shorter lifespan) so that's why I asked. Thanks for all that, my monitor is on for 12 hours a day at the most so that's relieving to hear. I use my monitor for gaming as well (CS:GO mostly) and I do agree 100% brightness without blur reduction is blinding.

I'm enjoying the monitor very much, cheers!

There are some newer 120Hz IPS monitors that seem really nice.. However with that said 120Hz doesnt mean that there is lower blur.. That just means the monitor refreshes faster.. The main benefit of this is that the framerate can be synced at a higher speed, plus I believe these can also do 3D. IPS panels have more ghosting and blur then TN panels as their response time is slower (usually around 5ms or higher).
