Thank you, may i ask what games do you play? and what are your preferred settings or what settings do you leave it on, on your VG 259QM? HZ, OD, VRR on or off, ELMB on or off, Gsync/ Freesync on or off?
Thanks in advance and stay safe :)
Overwatch:
270fps limit + ELMB-Sync + Freesync + ingame Vsync.

Rainbow Six Siege:
235fps limit (config file)+ ELMB-Sync + Freesync + ingame Vsync.
(280hz is bugged ingame and it automatically reverts to 240hz, you can use the config file to set it to 280hz and force "Read Only" but it works 20% of the time)

Hyper Scape
270fps limit (config file)+ ELMB-Sync + Freesync + ingame Vsync.

League of Legends:
It isn't a game that massively benefits from strobing but it can make Moba's typical movement (like this https://www.testufo.com/framerates-versus) way smoother.
Gsync /Freesync is a must, tearing in Moba games is imo very noticeable and tearing when moving the camera is extremely annoying.
There's no fps limiter ingame so you need to change the config file (or use a 3rd party/driver fps limiter)
(config file)
235fps limit (config file)+ ELMB-Sync + Freesync + ingame Vsync.

I always use ingame vsync + capped fps since vsync helps with frame pacing(capped vsync has no input lag, ingame vsync is tied to the game engine so it's generally superior to driver vsync) + it helps with fps drops.

I want to talk about Warzone to give you a different example, my fps fluctuate between 160 and 250. ELMB-Sync and ELMB are good only in the 200-280hz range so I keep it disabled. I enable Freesync/Gsync with a 235fps cap to make the framerate fluctuations smoother and I set the overdrive to OD60 since it is more consistent than OD80 in the 144-230fps range.
Thank you for your answers, id appreciate it :) btw whats your OD settings for:
Overwatch:
270fps limit + ELMB-Sync + Freesync + ingame Vsync.
Rainbow Six Siege:
235fps limit (config file)+ ELMB-Sync + Freesync + ingame Vsync.
Hyper Scape
270fps limit (config file)+ ELMB-Sync + Freesync + ingame Vsync.

What are your OD settings for those as well? Thanks

Im alleging that all of the "first impressions"and the ppl hyping the odyssey g7 on youtube and reddit are paid marketers.

Not Once did i see a ufo motion test that isn't motion blur reduction turned on. These alleged marketer(im 95% sure of it) are hiding this bcuz the only thing i care about is the actual responsse times to see if it could even surpass the required 4.17ms g2g for 240hz.

Im 99% certain its around 6-7ms g2g with 15ms b2b(the ghosting that is the worst) since this shade of grey(black) is the most obvious motion blur that annoys me the most.

I will expose the truth this mid july. If im wrong, i will keep the monitor and give a legit 5 star review on amazon.

I already caught a paid marketer using motion blur reduction as "fastest overdrive no mbr" when its obvious it is. .

Gentleman, take those reddit posts and youtube vids about the odyssey g7 with a grain of salt. Wait til it gets releeased mid july in the united states of america where i will post a real review. My electrical engineer friend will assist me with my oscilloscope measurements.

Why am i doing this? Bcuz i feel bad for someone getting ripped off thanks to cherry picked advertising while ignoring critical information.

@RLCScontender any ETA as to when the review will be out? I'm still holding back to see which one I should really go for (although my heart is still keen on the mag251rx for more than just fps usage)

why a 270 limit when the blurbusters guide says 3fps limit is perfectly safe for all games? Also on rainbow six, if you run boarderless you will run at your desktops refresh rate (280hertz) and thanks for the info and your setups, ill try your warzone setup.
me too in warzone get less fps in the other games i play, how come you dont use ELMB in warzone is there a reason? thanks

Good thing about this website is that the UFO testes generally don't lie. As long as saturation, temperature, and certain levels of brightness and a straight line, that's great way to tell how fast your monitor is.

Image

I've compiled the fastest TN vs the fastest IPS monitors and put them into ONE photo. I also put a UFO test of what the alien spaceship is supposed to look like. The way to tell is asymetric blur. The more assmetric blur=higher response time. TN is ahead in white transitions but is just about equal in every other color(although the AW2518HF(top middle) seems to be showing some assymetrical black level smearing.

thing is, i see the big picture of things. It looks to me the fast IPS when it comes to g2g response times are just as good as the fastest TN.

The difference unfortunately is input lag. (top right photo is the acer nitro XF252Q) which is basically one of the fastest TN in the world right now(i think it has the BEST UFO ghosting test out of the 8 photos), but with a whopping 3-3.5ms input lag. Whereas the one in the bottom right(acer predator xb253q gx) based off my measurements is about 1.6-1.8ms input lag(no processing delays unlike its TN cousin the nitro xf252q, this is confirmed via RTINGS & TFTcrentral at around the 3-3.5ms input lag mark.)

TN is still ahead in grey to grey response times but is behind in input lag(the XB3/XV3 monitors) and peak performance(The Asus VG279QM/VG259QM is 15% faster). This is a mixture of my measurements and the two measurements from tftcentral and rtings. Keep in mind, the reason why i'm using them as references is because iIve never measured TN g2g and TN input lag so i had no choice but to use these sites. Generally speaking, they are fairly accurate and if i were to advise anyone to to wait for a review, these two sources in my opinion are fairly credible. I follow the same format when it comes to measuring latency from TFT(except i use a photodiode and an oscilloscope whereaes TFT using smtt to measure latency), also with the 10-90 g2g averages as well.

Yes I saw that. It seems like 251rx will take 2nd placing (very close to the predator xb273 x) in the 240hz space; anything beyond goes to VG259/279QM (if that's what I'm interpreting correctly).

Just a heads up anyone from the US looking to pick up a VG259QM. I had one pre-ordered on B&H's site for a few weeks now since it wasn't in stock yet and said "new item coming soon". It still says “new item coming soon” on their site but I received mine via FedEx unexpectedly the other day. Not sure why it doesn't say it is in stock yet unless they are fulfilling pre-orders first.

Really happy with it so far! $319 was by the cheapest out of the 3 I was considering. Really very minimal black light bleed/IPS glow and no dead pixels. B&H also has a promo where if you use their store card, you don't pay tax so anyone interested can snag one for $319 final cost w/ free shipping. Barely had time to use it yet but I'll offer any insight if I can once I start doing some gaming :)
