The best way to fix this issue in my humble opinion, is to get out of the city and find a safe spot to have the less wireless interference possible, and then filter the dirty electricity left if you still have some of those issues, & shield every cable!
Reminder too that your computer case is not a faraday cage (it should be), and there are wireless signal coming in making interference.
Like my define R5 has some plastic parts on some of the side, and where the air must go through!
Every part of where the air must go through should be placed aluminium grid on, and no more plastic part on side of the casing.
The pc casing standard should be redesigned as faraday cage before aesthetic and easily able to be grounded!

I'm sorry but I think there's a misunderstanding, I agree with you about Harmonic Distortion, it's what I call Dirty Electricity in previous post.nuggify wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020, 04:26And again you are assuming that everyone will have the same experience. However this is not a problem everywhere. Most people will never experience this issue at all. I do believe you when you say those devices attenuate the issue to a certain degree- I have seen it myself with power conditioners, UPS systems, ferrite and toroid cores, isolation transformers and many other things that affect the electrical harmonics of our AC power systems. The problem is none of this is a true fix because we haven't been tackling this issue at the source, or in the least directing our mitigation techniques in the right direction: harmonic distortion, NOT EMF.Mylliah wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020, 04:16

I just think it's one factor, and the other factor is EMF/RFI. But might be not for all like you said, which I didn't express in previous post.

Are you seriously arguing that 80 ratings 4 stars is a proof of it working? Search shungite on Amazon there are fucking piramids made out of flint with 350 reviews and 4.5 stars.
Let us analyze the PCB, assuming that there is one, I personally wouldn't give a single $ to a company that promises anti-EMF products when selling energy pillows for the exact same price, but hey it's your money so feel free to get scammed.
Aulterra products use a propriety blend of highly paramagnetic earth minerals that emit a strong coherent frequency that ‘neutralize’ the incoherent manmade EMF’s emitting from electronics, wireless devices and WiFi signals, etc. EMF’s are a bi-product of the energy produced by various electronic devices and Wi-Fi signals. Aulterra EMF Neutralizing products change that ‘bi-product’ or manmade incoherent EMF wave into a coherent EMF wave making those EMF’s no longer harmful to biological DNA.
They are implying that the minerals somehow emit a destructive interference that neutralize EMF, you can make frequencies pass thru a crystal (like in the case of crystal oscillator, but you are in fact applying voltage to a quartz electrode, since quartz are diamagnetic they are not sensible to electromagnetic interference and completely neutral on this regard, quartz crystal are in fact used only for precise frequency regulation, so this will not be the case).
So yeah there's probably some sort of stupid ferromagnet inside, how can you even read and counter the amount of EMF emitted without using electricity based instruments is beyond scientific comprehension, do yourself a favor and move your hard drives as far as you can from these usb you may end up getting data corruption.Uses no electricity.
Let me reiterate, post what's inside one of these USB.

Re: Input lag and eSport. Every gamer should know this.
An oscilloscope is a tool that allows you to see how the voltage and current (sine waves) change over time. From this you can calculate things like THD (total harmonic distortion). The one a few of us have is the PICO 2205A with the ammeter clamp (for current).
Mylliah, I have measured the EMF in my home with a Trifield TF2. While the EMF is extremely low (2 milligauss) the problem is still entirely apparent so there is clearly no correlation with EMF. Furthermore its not useful to describe this problem via the term "dirty electricity". The reason being there are folks out there with extremely dirty electricity and it does not affect their PCs in this way. There is something in particular about our situations that is causing these issues and it is not simply the presence of a few transients on the power
In fact when I take my laptop on a boat (generator that creates fairly crude power) my laptop has none of the issues that my home does.
Re: Input lag and eSport. Every gamer should know this.
Hey everyone, I've been dealing with this issue ever since I moved across the country to California a couple years ago. I don't have to list it all but I probably tried all the same crazy things you guys did. Of course nothing helped for more than a few moments.
I'm about to give up until I move to a new place but I wonder, has anyone tried to power up their pc and/or monitor with an inverter generator? I know it's a ridiculous solution but I really wouldn't mind using gasoline to play CSGO every once in a while. Unless someone tells me it's a stupid idea, I might go pick up a WEN 56200i generator and give it a shot this week.
Thoughts?!?

For those asking to reopen the thread, please post a new thread.
Here's a reply I sent by PM to someone who asked for this thread to be reopened.
To reduce the heat of a new thread and minimize it from becoming derailed, sometimes it means you have to exercise some High School Essay skills or University Essay skills in a way that can impress a teacher. Yes, it's a forum, but we are not Twitter. Threads that becomes popular last longer if the OP writes higher quality material & stays around to monitor replies.
Hard questions may need to be asked and answered, but do so in a respectful manner -- please.
Also, to everyone else: Generally, it is best not to publicly complain about no-shows of volunteer moderators (a no-no) who are already covid-demoralized & use the underused "Report Post" feature instead. TL;DR: Start a new thread & be a responsible thread monitor of your own thread
Here's a reply I sent by PM to someone who asked for this thread to be reopened.
When you post a new thread that is more closeproof, you're going to have to flame-proof your posts as much as you can. It's also a good practice to buttress claims with new photo/data-filled threads are welcome for specific individual experiences. We love science, we love facts, we love evidence. The more the merrier! Use imgur/youtube hosting for photos and random clips (doesn't have to be Youtube star quality, just verbatim copies of what was on your camera). This will reduce the scoville level (aka heat) of replies, making it less likely to be contaminated with excess noise.Chief Blur Buster wrote:If you have a huge experiences post, then generally a good best-practice is to not reuse somebody else's already threadcrapped thread for big-effort experiences, be a responsible OP and post your own thread that focuses on your stuff, and privately click "Report Post" on anybody that threadcraps your thread rather than posting public annoyances.
By being a responsible maitainer of your own threads and ignoring replying to trolls (use Report Post), this makes it easier to keep your own thread open. Heated arguments against replies and/or trolls that disagree with you raise the forum-heat to unacceptable levels, so post polite rebuttals to them in accordance to forum rules. Put the thread destiny more into your hands.
Moderation also prioritizes thread original poster (OP) over non-OP. If you reply respectfully in accordance to Forum Rules, and if I want to participate in the discussion -- I'll reply respectfully agreeing or disagreeing without closing the thread. I might move thread to a different topic area if it fits better.
It's a case of too many straws broke a camel back. There was too much heated offtopic branches in that threads, including arguments of "where are the moderators"?. That type of noise isn't welcome in threads. When people are annoyed that moderators aren't allowed (without contacting me privately or doing the [!] Report Post feature), public complaints doesn't cast a good light on covid-lowered-morale volunteer moderators.
It was only one of the many straws, but that thread is beyond repair. Post a new thread.
