[Power/EMI] I discover why sometime PC become fast and low input lag and otherwise feel high input lag

This subforum is for advanced users only. This separate area is for niche or unexpected lag issues such as electromagnetic interference (EMI, EMF, electrical, radiofrequency, etc). Interference of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction (ECC) latencies like a bad modem connection, except internally in a circuit. ECC = retransmits = lag. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI.

Re: [Power/EMI] I discover why sometime PC become fast and low input lag and otherwise feel high input lag
Something in my PC case makes similar sound, but higher pitch and not as loud. Sometimes its not there, but usually I hear it as I move my mouse (tried 5 or so, 1 wireless, so its not the mouse) or launch the game. Its becomes more silent as I drop power plan to Power Saving, sometimes its just gone. And when its there - TimerTool clearly affecting it - when I set 0.5 it becomes more present. I can hear it, so can people I show it to, but no luck in recording, its either fans are too loud or mic on my phone is shit.blackmagic wrote: ↑15 Aug 2021, 04:55
many call that coil whine if you make research on that and maybe that what you can hear in earphones and that goes through gpu power connecter and to cable to psu.

Is this solution still works for you? If so, can you share your NIC settings?BigBoi wrote: ↑30 Jun 2021, 14:48
I don't know if there's a difference, i got a PCIe TP-Link network card for like 30$ CAD. The model ID is TG-3468 but I don't think it's the best if you're looking for that. I'm guessing nobody can confirm whether or not getting a dedicated NIC can make a difference. I did it and i felt a difference, could be placebo though because i only tested once and right now i can't because I'm not at home.

is it weird that the monitor colors get washed out on high system usage, its like the contrast goes down?

I feel exactly the same as you, high fps not smooth/a lot of input delay during the day time, and them betwen 1 am to 5/6 am it completely changes and the game starts to run better, lower input lag and less tearing on screen, smoother.
I can ensure its not internet related cause ive changed my isp already, and it also happens on offline play, very weird.
It is someyhing related to electricity for sure but the thing is its probably not possible to trubleshoot unfortnely
Re: [Power/EMI] I discover why sometime PC become fast and low input lag and otherwise feel high input lag
same here input lag in day not smooth... i have 165 Hz monitor even with 200 fps in games feels laggy like 75 hz... but in the night at 3AMJonasFCB wrote: ↑17 Aug 2021, 14:55I feel exactly the same as you, high fps not smooth/a lot of input delay during the day time, and them betwen 1 am to 5/6 am it completely changes and the game starts to run better, lower input lag and less tearing on screen, smoother.

the input lag is gonne and i can play smooth again untill 12PM the input lag is back again every day is the same is so annoying because you can feel how the incredible smooth experience is gone (is not a internet issue is 100% electrical i tried notebook and consoles an the results are the same even in offline, ethernet or wifi) im very perceptive with this delay issues and is actually a pain in the ass.

lucky bro, at least you have times when everything returns to normal, since "2016" that my issue started i never feel any improves my problem is present 24/7.nyxo100 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2021, 17:16same here input lag in day not smooth... i have 165 Hz monitor even with 200 fps in games feels laggy like 75 hz... but in the night at 3AMJonasFCB wrote: ↑17 Aug 2021, 14:55I feel exactly the same as you, high fps not smooth/a lot of input delay during the day time, and them betwen 1 am to 5/6 am it completely changes and the game starts to run better, lower input lag and less tearing on screen, smoother.

Just had the electrician from the power company here and he had the device for testing with him for the weekend until monday. He already told me something is wrong when i switch devices on or off my Voltage changes to much it should Not do that he said. Lets hope its fixable they will come monday again to check what the device says.
