Looks like the XL2546K uses a TN panel which is usually easier on the eyes due to the lower contrast ratio compared to IPS. I have to use Limited Range RGB on IPS panels to compensate.StarWarsCoffee wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 18:27Anyone getting eye fatigue with this monitor? I’m not 100% certain but it seems that I may be getting some with the XG2431 where with the XL2546K I am not.

Yeah I’ve heard TN might be easier on the eyes than IPS so maybe that’s what I am experiencing. I’ve had plenty of IPS panels in the past and never had an issue, but this is the first time I’ve ever tested a TN and IPS side by side so perhaps it’s becoming more apparent.xenphor wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 19:02Looks like the XL2546K uses a TN panel which is usually easier on the eyes due to the lower contrast ratio compared to IPS. I am getting a lot of eye fatigue and I don’t know for what reason. This is coming from aoc 24g2u.StarWarsCoffee wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 18:27Anyone getting eye fatigue with this monitor? I’m not 100% certain but it seems that I may be getting some with the XG2431 where with the XL2546K I am not.

You too, huh? I’ll be curious if anyone else chimes in. I’ve never experienced this before but I had to hop off gaming earlier than normal tonight because my eyes had that “I’m incredibly tired/sleepy burn” feeling. I figured maybe it was me just being tired but as I’ve stepped away it’s slowly normalizing out. Really strange as I’ve used IPS before so it must be something specific with IPS+strobing where the XL2546K strobing doesn’t seem to bother me. I’m going to exclusively use the XL2546K tomorrow and see if it bugs me the same way…

Well, after testing the Viewsonic XG2431 vs the ASUS VG259QM , I've decided to return the Viewsonic.
The viewsonic has a clearer picture, but the input lag is too much for me. I don't think this monitor is good for high refresh rate competitive games and it has many weird attributes that make no sense like setting the refresh rate to 180 hz having less input lag than 240.
I also get eye fatigue even without the purexp turned on. Plus mine has a stuck red pixel.
The buttons for adjusting the OSD are the worst I've ever used..
If you are hindered by you cpu/gpu and can't get high frame rates or run 1440p, this monitor will be a good choice. It's very clear, It's close to a 1440p monitor for clarity.
This monitor is a Paradox in the sense that you get the clearest 1080p picture out there which you want for high fps competitive games but the input lag defeats the purpose of the clarity. Gaming feels disjointed and loose. I really want to like it but can't.

I feel the same way, I did a lot of switching between monitors and couldn't put my finger on it at first. The input lag for me at 120hz well gaming on console was something else. The picture of the monitor and PureXP were fantastic but for gaming it just threw me off. This is just based off what I've been seeing.
Edit: I also tried many different variations of settings. Freesync alongside standard, advanced and ultra fast overdrive settings to see if it made any difference too.

I've been mainly using it without strobing, haven't got the time to play games atm. So the main fatigue is coming from either the colors/gamma or something visually from the monitor. Can't quite grasp what exactly.StarWarsCoffee wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 22:26You too, huh? I’ll be curious if anyone else chimes in. Another point in the eye fatigue column. It's bizarre but I'm getting it as well and another user has reported the same.
The XG2431 is the first panel to ever give me eye fatigue, so much so that I didn't even know what it was at first. I thought it was due to strobing or at least the way the XG2431 does strobing, but you and the other user are both reporting fatigue with strobing off...
Very curious!

That's very interesting, but I'm with you, I don't know what it is but it's definitely there and noticeably compared to my XL2546K or other IPS panels I've used in the past. Maybe it's something with this new Innolux panel, who knows.
But for me I think it's going to be cause to return the monitor because I never had discomfort with any monitor like I did last night after a full day of using the XG2431...
