Howdy all,

I am having an issue where my XG2431 monitor onboard hud is displaying 60hz with a148.4mhz pixel clock (Setup Menu-> Information-> Pixel Clock), even though toastyX is showing 594.00mhz.

Having followed the "Vertical Total Calculator" method, I am able to achieve the desired results at both 85hz and 120hz (593.92mhz & 594mhz respectively) but not with 60hz - the option I actually want to use.

Could there be an issue with one of my extension block settings? As a sanity check I ran the "reset-all" application included with the v1.5.2 CRU-toastyX zip. Then once again walked through the steps, which resulted in the same outcome.

Any recommendations for how I should proceed from here?

other notes:
My 3060ti has up-to-date drivers and I am using an 8k hdmi 2.0 cable to connect the monitor with the card. I could not get 60hz working with my displayport cables (black screen). Since this hdmi cable seems to work for 85hz & 120hz (with the correct pixel clock values) I wouldnt expect the hdmi cable also being the cause of my issue with 60hz.

My uneducated theory is that somehow my toastyX 60hz resolution is being overwritten by something. I am also unsure exactly why there is a 144hz and 100hz options available in this dropdown when they are not shown in toastyX. In my windows Advanced Display Settings I am given many more (15)options for refresh rates from 23.976hz - 239.761hz. If this isnt relevant to my issue then please ignore this bit - just trying to provide any information that may be helpful.

SNIP
First use the frequencies here as the ones in NVCP are not the ones to use.

Try using a vertical total of 4000

Hey guys. Been an XG2431 owner for a while, finally decided to give QFT a go.

I'm trying to get the 60Hz QFT resolution to work. I get stuck at the step where I have to reset my drivers. I should mention that the only "Detailed Resolution" I see is 1920x1080 at 60Hz with 148.4MHz pixel clock. I have to create a new one from scratch. I follow the steps, reset drivers. Best case scenario, I get a washed out picture (likely switches to "limited range"), monitor still reports 60Hz at 148.4MHz and the NVIDIA Control Panel doesn't recognize the monitor anymore, so no display options are available. Worst case scenario, I get a black picture.

Am I doing something wrong?

Definitely check this video and description. Should be pretty simple.

phpBB [video]

Tip 1: To avoid conflicting resolutions (e.g. there are three 1080p 60Hz resolutions by default), remove all excess resolutions beforehand, except max Hz since it's needed for deriving.
Tip 2: Don't edit the resolution monitor is running. If the monitor can't output resolution it can get stuck after restarting the driver.
Tip 3: Quote from upcoming XG2431 article:
Discorz wrote:While testing I encountered a few limitations. By increasing vertical totals, clock speeds are getting larger too. XG2431 is capable of going up to 600 MHz clock speed on both DisplayPort and HDMI inputs. To get maximum out of it, I Initially expected VT could be increased until the clock limits were reached. However anything above ~568.5 MHz had a countereffect – even though panel accepted signals up to 600 MHz, crosstalk above ~568.5 MHz appeared to be the same as with standard/reduced VT.

There are more side effects such as blackouts, black screen, VRR overdrive bug, but they highly depend on which refresh rate, gpu and input you’re using (see more limitations I encountered here). In the end I settled with resolutions simply derived from factory 240 Hz, which were most easy to create thanks to vertical total calculator.

60 Hz on DisplayPort derived from factory 240 Hz was unstable and requires VT to be reduced manually to work. HDMI may be more stable in that case. To manually reduce Vertical Total simply switch the “Timing” to “Manual” and enter custom value. On some gpus I was able to get VT 4625, while on others 4500. Some users reported they had to reduce it further to ~4200.
Tip 4: Here are the all the optimal settings.

Nothing. Whatever change I make inside CRU causes the NVidia driver to stop seeing the XG2431 after restarting. Once I reset everything to default, it sees the monitor again. I'm stuck. Using RTX3060 with DP 10bits.

Hey guys was wondering what Pure XP settings I should use for the following refresh rates: 120hz, 180hz, and 240hz?

(Assuming custom resolution is set in CRU with vertical total calculator)

I found that strobing on makes the colors washed out and really off, I sold my XG2431 and am using an OLED Glossy monitor right now.

I hate the Blur at 60 FPS for fighting games so I use AFMF 2.1 for frame generation to get 120 FPS in fighting games locked to 60 FPS

There is a theory that frame gen will put you at a disadvantage in Online competitive gaming, but AMD Adrenaline reports a max of 10ms input delay for AFMF 2.1 frame gen at 60 FPS and 4ms input delay for frame gen at 120 FPS to get 240

Since no human can react to this I realized it puts me at NO disadvantage online gaming whatsoever so I use this over something like Strobing
