Input Lag Is Gone When I Use IGPU

Post by afn7 » 30 Dec 2022, 10:32

Hello guys, I want to share something I found and need some solution/logic from you.

As all of you know we have some sort of input lag delay. Here is the thing. When I open the game with IGPU, all delay and input lag issues are gone. Why do you think IGPU fix the issue? Pcie express version? Power supply issue? or faulty GPU even tho I changed it from RX580.

Monitors: Msi 360hz and Viewsonic 240hz.

I can see real 360hz feeling and nothing wrong with the game apart from low fps due to IGPU.

Tested games: Csgo and Rocket League.

Do you think I should upgrade to the RTX series?

Used to think that too, but then input lag came back. I'm sure it's one of those effects when it first looks like it's fixed because you are trying something different, but will eventually crawl back into your system. Long story short, believe me, it's not gone mate.

Am I correct in assuming you have a 1080? I had to clean off and reapply thermal paste on mine to stop it from throttling. These cards run hot and the thermal paste doesn't last forever.

As for upgrading to rtx, I personally would not recommend it. I upgraded to a 2070S, then a 3070, then a 3090. The difference in performance for CSGO and Rocket League is minimal.

Might be one of those "two day wonders" when you change something, it becomes good but then "lag" eventually comes back. Like after fresh install, 1 day is good 2nd day is wack 3rd day is unplayable again.
Source: I swapped 1080ti for 3070, it was fine for like 7 ? days then lag came back. Same with friend's 1070 and 1660s gpus.
Unless your GPU emits enormous EMI or disrupts the whole system in some way. Then yeah.

Whenever I try IGPU it is fixed. Maybe due to low fps or low frequency of the GPU. Or the CPU can communicate well with its own GPU. Really don't have clue.

Keep playing with iGPU and it will come back. Believe me, it's not fixed.

IMO test it in some low demanding game for days then you'll see. If it's good for 7-14 days with no fluctuations then you're good.

I was able to play csgo via the hdmi of the mobo
but the dGPU is taking the load not the iGPU.

The game is feeling better but still there are lags coming from Server / ISP

good solution :!:

same for valorant better but still not playable enuf
