Re: [FIX] Alienware AW2518HF frameskipping/ghosting fix (and possibly all the other AW2XXX series such as the AW2521HF)

Found some interesting finds using the service menu and trying out HDMI vs DisplayPort. When using DisplayPort, the EDID CEA 861 extension states +/- polarities meanwhile on the service menu it shows that the polarities actually being used are -/-. When using HDMI, the service menu shows +/-. Polari...

Re: [FIX] Alienware AW2518HF frameskipping/ghosting fix (and possibly all the other AW2XXX series such as the AW2521)

So If I create and apply the displayID2.0 settings it will automatically substitute/override the old/standard 240hz setting? Delete the 239.76Hz under the CTA resolution. Create a DisplayID block under the "Extension Blocks" (so you'll have both a CTA and DisplayID block). Add the new 239.76Hz sett...

I briefly tried it and so far it seems it has eliminated the inverse ghosting quite a bit on the highest overdrive.
I'll try some games today and see how it goes.
are you using hdmi or displayport ?
DisplayID only works with DisplayPort.

Re: [FIX] Alienware AW2518HF frameskipping/ghosting fix (and possibly all the other AW2XXX series such as the AW2521)

Is this better than the exact reduced fix? BTW how did you know these exact numbers are the correct ones when manual doesn't allow for 121 front porch? Can I somehow brick my monitor with this? Exact Reduced improved input lag for me, but gave me stutters and didn't fix the ghosting issue for me.

Re: Changing Processor State Greatly affects mouse sensitivity/ lag

As promised https://youtu.be/YuMluQ7Mq4w To clarify, sens was set to 3.60 at start, after applying 50%, had to set to 8.00 to correct, still could have been higher, but then set back to 100% and it’s out of control fast. FPS lightly affected, but not the main issue. i read recently a post in discor...

[FIX] Alienware AW2518HF frameskipping/ghosting fix (and possibly all the other AW2XXX series such as the AW2521HF)

June 2nd, 2024 - Updated: Some interesting finds on the AW2518HF (not tested on other models): HDMI 2.0 shows the monitor polarity as +/- when running 240Hz. DisplayPort will always show the polarity as -/- when running 240Hz. The EDID extension blocks for DisplayPort has incorrect polarities stati...
