Is the KSF red glow and crosstalk on your PG248QP noticeable? I previously had a PG248QP, and after enabling ULMB2 at 360Hz, the motion clarity was extremely impressive. However, the crosstalk and KSF red glow were too obvious, so I eventually sold it.

no, i only noticed it scrolling a dark webpage with white text really fast, and looked orange tint, other then that, nope, nothing like pg27aqn
but the monitor has noticeable flaws, not as bright as zowies, horrible base stand, limited OSD like pg27aqn, no sharpness vivid pixel etc
if you didnt know, some asus strix stands are interchangeable, im sure the dual mode 4k 485hz asus stand will fit on my pg27aqn, i will try it out later and post it, even the pg248qp stand fits on pg27aqn, i think i mainly sold it, because A) i needed money, and B) in reality the backlight strobing between all the top monitors in game, is similar, the ufo test exacerbates the crosstalk, that you dont really notice in games, except say kovaaks you can notice it, plus zowie strobing can work at 100hz-540hz, custom refresh rates and has a good sharpness slider

I had this red glow on my 600hz tn until i disabled the black boost / lowered to 0 (minimum), the effect disappeared instantly.MSIfanboy wrote: ↑11 Jul 2026, 03:44no, i only noticed it scrolling a dark webpage with white text really fast, and looked orange tint, other then that, nope, nothing like pg27aqn

Re: Zowie Dyac3 + New Monitors Rumor
I don't like black boost it's like taking an OLED monitor and applying a IPS filter to it.
Speaking of which I received my Asus PG27AQN.
Testing the motion clarity it seems to be sharp UFO even at the highest speeds I can smoothly track ( 4000pps). And that's at good brightness too ( above 50%). I would have expected good motion clarity only up to half of that, but there we have it. There is some noticable frozen trail which doesn't nearly decay like a CRT but it's not a big deal in game.
So verses my 500hz MSI QD OLED
+ no perceivable increase in display lag, which really surprised me. - edit - now I have had the chance to flip between the 2 monitors, there is a slight increase in display lag. The OLED definitely wins on this, but the difference isn't a deal breaker.
- far worse black level
+ Less dark grey to black crush
+ Far better motion clarity - edit - I think people won't notice this as much if their vision isn't as sharp as I don't notice the difference as much if I don't have my glasses on. I.e a bit of blur doesn't matter if
- no static display elements concerns
- Everything does indeed pop less due to the lower contrast ratio
- I miss the AI colour changing cross hair
I have played with it for a few hours now and played well. edit - played several hours more, flipping between the two, and my preference is a toss of a coin at the moment.
Feelings are mixed because the OLED does look better with a static image, most pronounced with a black desktop background !
The biggest objective change for the better is I now feel like playing full screen again instead of in a 4 to 3 window. The far greater motion clarity than even 500hz ( and 500fps ) sample and hold blur OLED means my eyes don't feel like they are hunting for focus everytime I pan, or like everything pops out of visibility for a moment even if the blur is only say 2 to 8 pixels on the OLED if it's for more than 200ms it's a focusing error and starts a loop. Hence i feel free to look around more, panning around looking for threats. Before I felt I had to hold the scene before me still to spot targets, now I can do it in motion. Overall I feel less disorientated. I can see how sample and hold displays force the player to compensate by looking around less and keeping the screen more static and flicking or aiming by strafing or waiting for the target to move into the cross hair.
I think what I am saying is the strobed display is an automatic upgrade in seeing targets, but also gives the freedom to play without mitigating panning blur. So it gives me the ability to do things I stopped even TRYING to do. But the poorer contrast / grey black is like having cataracts.

Re: Zowie Dyac3 + New Monitors Rumor
Thankyou for the tip. I wish I didn't have the OLED because this monitor would be sufficient at half the price, however since I have the OLED, when I use the IPS display I miss the OLED, and vice verse. I hope soon we have a monitor that takes the strengths of both and combines them. Maybe Dyac 3 can achieve this. - I will be eager to compare the contrast and colour volume to both OLED and IPS.YukiOW wrote: ↑10 Jul 2026, 05:51I’m glad you bought the PG27AQN because of my recommendation. Remember to use the sRGB color gamut; otherwise, the red outlines around characters will be very noticeable. I think the PG27AQN should offer a better overall user experience than your OLED.DanDare wrote: ↑08 Jul 2026, 08:08Thankyou - based on your review of multiple monitors and how they relate to one another I have gone ahead and purchased a second hand PG27AQN for a good price ( 260 British pounds in apparently perfect condition and original box. ) .YukiOW wrote: ↑03 Jul 2026, 09:28
I’m really looking forward to this monitor, and I’m waiting for more authoritative reviews to come out so I can see whether it’s worth replacing my PG27AQN, which I currently consider to be the best overall backlight-strobing monitor available.

Re: Zowie Dyac3 + New Monitors Rumor
Small update on this post, we've got a few new tidbits.
Here's the XQ2566X in SoftMCCS
Namely, this portion is the most interesting bit:

New registers: 0xE0, 0xE1, 0xE2, 0xEA (Not the same names as previous DyAc models)
Identical ones to DyAc2: 0xE7, 0xE8, 0xEE, 0xED, 0xF0, 0xF4, 0xF5, 0xF7, 0xF8, 0xF9, 0xFA, 0xFB (confirmed to not adjust pulse width)
Here's how the same section above looks like on the XL2586X (DyAc2)
And here's a TestUFO pursuit video of the DyAc3=Premium (lowest pulse width) & AMA=High
The UFO is running at 1920px/s on it's native 360Hz refresh rate setting
The one of the better frames (with slightly less contrast applied) from this video above would be:

Which implies that it's not hitting a 0,5ms pulse on interval. This means that the pulse interval likely >18%
Perhaps 25% or larger pulse width (≤1440 Hz effective motion clarity)
It reminds me of how ULMB2 360Hz on the new XG27AQNGV looks like... which is a extremely mediocre target for them to chase.
It's a bit on the shorter end in terms of total achievable effective motion clarity compared to it's competitors on the market.
The ASUS PG27AQN, for example, can achieve a much lower pulse on interval (PW=40) at relatively usable brightness (~150cd/m²), as seen on 1920px/s UFOs & 2400px/s UFOs
As much as this pains me to say... the ASUS PG27AQN is still king in terms of backlight strobing implementation in the 1440p space.
The effective motion clarity rivaling CRTs is too good to give up on.
If I were to loosely rank them (don't treat this as a rule of thumb or actual reality, there's much ambiguity and extrapolation going on):
0.) CRT
Self-explanatory
1.) ASUS PG27AQN & it's other vendor derivatives
Closest to a CRT. Likely imperceptible to them in terms of total achievable eye-tracked motion clarity, without the severe detriments of CRTs such as weight, power draw, geometry issues.
2.) ASUS XG27AQNGV & it's derivatives
Due to the 120Hz ULMB2 mode & having the ability to use VRR+strobing for fun; the 240Hz & 360Hz mode are a meme)
3.) Acer XB273U GX
Maybe the UKF 300Hz model & this one can fit here, too little information is known; VRB Extreme does target <20% PW for sure
4.) Zowie/Benq XQ2566X
Likely locked down to 2 fixed pulse widths settings & seemingly mediocre effective motion clarity @ it's native refresh rate for the price they're asking are severe dealbreakers...
Titan Army P275MS Pro & MSI 274QPF X30MV seem roughly similar in terms of effective motion clarity.
I'm undecided on where I'd rank the Titan Army P245MS Pro+ due to this video
UPDATE:
New 1440px/s, 1920px/s, 2400px/s UFOS. Ladders sadly don't align...
This album reveals different behavior to my approximations above... More data is required.

How did you decide that? I like frame #433 much more, the vertical lines are clearly preserved.

If you're referring to the pulse on interval, it's a approximation based on the UFO & other similar UFOs.betonKruglosuTotchno wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026, 18:26How did you decide that? I like frame #433 much more, the vertical lines are clearly preserved.
Namely: 2px of blur OLED BFI & <1px of blur of a CRT
I don't deny the possibility of being wrong. The actual authority over the truthful values employed by this display would be data based on a oscilloscope + probe set-up OR multiple UFO pursuits photographs at different pixel speeds (960, 1440, 1920, 2000, 2400, 2880, 3000, 3840)
If you're referring to the pursuit photograph I've chosen, it was just a random choice.
I do agree that your photograph is also great, better sharpness than the one I've chosen. When I was evaluating the video, it was 1080p only. It's seemingly 4K now, the higher bitrate should help tremendously.
I do still think that the pulse on interval isn't 0,5ms, dangerously close to it though. Perhaps it is 0,5ms

Re: Zowie Dyac3 + New Monitors Rumor
This is a good example of how bad camera focus and resolution can cause wrong conclusions, even though the tracking on the Sync Track appears decent. Good tracking is sometimes not enough. First image resembles ~2 pixels, while second one ~1 pixel of motion blur. That Is ~1.1 vs ~0.6 ms MPRT at 360 Hz 1800pps (~1920pps).
I've made "pixels of motion blur" map for easier readouts, if anyone needs it. You'll still have to do rest of the math by hand. Once you know approximate "pixels of blur", you can calculate approximate MPRT out from moving speed.
MPRT in milliseconds = (Motion Blur in pixels * 1000) / Speed in Pixels per Second
