I'm wondering as well and its part of the reason why I still use Pulsar at that refresh rate range. I find the latency is too distracting with 120Hz ULMB2 + V-Sync.hammelgammler wrote: ↑22 Sep 2026, 06:58Does someone know a trick to have the lowest latency but still no tearing with 120Hz ULMB2?
I tried various forms of scanline sync, but in all cases I can’t seem to get it to work flawlessly, at one point the tear line is back. Also moving the line up/down does not really work as expected, neither with SpecialK nor RTSS. When I move the line 1 up/down, the tool syncs again and the line is at a random spot again.
I saw that fast sync with a (actual Hz - 0.01) limit seemingly has the lowest latency and still no tearing? Interestingly enough, it seems to work in some games, but not with all. Is that normal?
Besides that, low-lag V-Sync does work pretty reliable, but it stutters a bit, which is of course way more obvious with great motion clarity.

I have asked the same thing some days ago but did not find the time to try kyubes suggested methods. So you did try this? Not successful?

Just saw your post. Tried Scanline Sync and Fast Sync. Like kyubes mentioned though they require 2x over framerate cap to work well. Scanline just straight up doesn't work in some games and it struggles when gpu utilization gets too high.. Fast Sync is a stutter fest unless you have the framerate headroom. Under ideal scenarios they both work pretty well though. They're just not good enough to just turn on and forget.

This is solvable by either using Reflex or by lowering your graphics settings.
SpecialK has more adjustments available than RTSS, if you want to tinker.

Re: NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor - Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV
Hi,
I’m upgrading from a 12-year-old hardware G-Sync TN monitor to the Asus XG27AQNGV. I am avoiding OLED due to VRR flicker.
I only play single-player RPG, action adventure and survival horror games. My performance is usually between 80-100 FPS, but I mostly try to lock it at 100 FPS flat.
1. Will Pulsar cause any flicker or eye strain at 80-100 FPS (especially when locked at 100 FPS)?
2. How is the strobe crosstalk (double image) at 90-100 FPS?
3. Is Pulsar worth it for this type of low-FPS single-player gaming?
Thanks!

1. Not for me personally but this is subjective on a person to person basis. Nvidia did a really good job reducing eye strain with gsync pulsar.Evolvo wrote: ↑Yesterday, 03:56Hi,

2. You'd have to really look HARD to find any crosstalk at lower refreshes. I haven't been able to notice any at that low fps
3. Yes, I use it for my gatcha games that are all locked to 120 fps max, dark souls with frame gen to get 120 fps and fortnite I max out my settings and get around 100 - 120 and it looks crispy.

1. Haven't experienced either - but this can differ from person to person. I will say it does take me a few days to get my eyes used to strobing after not using it for a while - but nothing in terms of eye strain or flicker.
2. Can't say I've noticed any at all for the games I've played at that fps range.
3. Yeah, I really enjoyed playing AC Shadows at around 90fps on the Pulsar monitor. It just made everything feel smoother and more clear at every point. I also did enjoy playing the game on an OLED though for how gorgeous it looked - but it was never as clear in motion as on the Pulsar and unfortunately AC Shadows has plenty of moments where you get dark scenes with fps fluctuations which didn't help with VRR flicker.

Anyone noticed the latest nvidia driver brings back the intermittent black screen issue regardless if you have "maximum performance" configured in nvidia settings?
It started happening on me again and that's the only thing changed recently. Seems like max power doesnt work around it anymore.
