How about a pulse width setting on the MSI version of pulsar monitor? Now it's just unusable cause u can't change the pulse width of 60hz ulmb mode and standard mode cause massive flickering, why only MSI 272qrf x36 is still have the worst firmware version between 4 monitors?

The 1.1.6 firmware update is currently available for AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2 and MSI MPG 272QRF X36 models.

See if a pulse width setting got added? Doesn't seem like it from the above list.

This is so ridiculous that idk. Im write to nvidias supp, they cant even say that i have a problem or what they will do with this, just send me to msi support, in msi's support they say we aware nvidia and u will get the pulse width option for 60 hz ulmb on msi 272qrf x36 in the next update.
And now im update the monitor to 1.1.6 and get nothing, WOW, im just give up, idk what i need to do for freaking even aware of this problem, they just threw up all the msi pulsar monitor users for nothing cause they dont want do their job properly

Have you considered returning the MSI and going for an Acer or ASUS version instead?

im my country i just cant go for this versions and msi on other way is good, just only 60 hz ulmb flick like a hell and u cant set it properly, lol, 4 monitors, same freacking panels, same firmware, but some monitors better than the other, just dont have words for this

I hope IF they implement the profile switching for ULMB 2 and pulsar modes through nvidia app (or control panel) that they will allow us to keep the settings active for the currently selected "main" monitor. I wouldn't want my pg27aqn to switch modes (although it would be nice for them to add the ability to change Gsync native monitor modes independently of each other but that might be too huge an ask tbh). I hope we get the new pulsar update for the asus monitor soon want to see how much it's improved.

This would be a huge QOL update. The amount of switching ive done from 60 to 360 to gsync off/on it gets annoying after a while.

Ideally the Pulsar mode should just drop down to 55hz, let us toggle the limit down from 75 and leave it up to us to see if the flicker is too much, everyone has differnt sensitivity.

And im so glad it looks like they fixed the auto switching behaviour of the HDMI ports, that gets annoying too if you have 2 different consoles connected.

I think the 60 hz flicker isn't the problem as much as
1. Changing flicker as the refresh rate changes between 55 - 75 fps becomes not only noticeable but incredibly more taxing than variable flicker above the flicker fusion threshold
2. The compensation pulse will probably adds to the erratic flicker strain at lower refresh rates.

This might be an unpopular opinion and probably would look down upon but I'd argue they should change the algorithm for pulsar when the frame times are BELOW 75 hz to the following:
If BELOW 75 hz AND FPS = 60 FPS consistently for X seconds
Begin ULMB 2 60 hz pulsing (no compensation pulse)
Else IF BELOW 75 hz AND ULMB 2 60 hz strobing AND fps not consistent
Disable 60 hz strobing and lock out 60 hz ULMB 2 in VRR operation for X seconds
Else Regular Gsync pulsar operation

They made Gsync pulsar locked to Nvidia GPUs only, they minus well take advantage of their vendor lock to add some extra quality of life changes to pulsar that would only be possible if you control the GPU + the driver + the display. Of course I would rather pulsar eventually be usable with all GPU vendors but if that's never gonna happen (again it might, we saw what happened to Gsync native monitors) they minus well add some extra logic where the display scaler communicates with the GPU over display port (or the usb if it's fast enough which I doubt but you never know).

-We investigated this and it resulted in too much flicker below 75Hz

I agree they should explore another solution for below 75hz, I don’t know how they do it but locking somehow to 60hz strobing at that range would look so much better than what we have currently.

I just finished Death Stranding 2 yesterday, and every time I opened the map menu to plan my route, the motion became painfully blurry. After getting used to clear, sharp frames in Pulsar mode, dropping back into regular sample-and-hold at 60 Hz feels jarring — to the point where I’d honestly rather deal with some flicker than the blur.

It’s a real shame. A lot of modern games (especially big single-player titles) drop to 60 Hz in menus, cutscenes, or inventory screens, and it completely breaks the immersion after experiencing how clean Pulsar can look.

Hows anyone used a strobing monitor for long term? The pulsar monitor at the moment doesn't seem to affect my eyes, but just wondering what happens long term? I never had really any issues with oled, leds. I did try the Asus 610hz monitor and did feel my eyes fagitue with that instantly. Pulsar, if any I barely feel anything, maybe a little? so I don't sound like a liar? But nothing compare to the Asus 610hz. I didn't keep the Asus 610hz long though, so I figured my eyes would get used to it.

I'm assuming if anything my eyes would just get used to the pulsar monitor and not really affect them long term?

6. The latest issue is after the monitor wakes from sleep, and you launch a game set for fullscreen display, the game will not display. You will instead see a black screen, and the bottom most light strip will blink once. It will repeat this slowly as if it's trying to go into full screen repeatedly. I have to ALT-F4 the game, and then power off the monitor and power it back on. Then full screen games will launch with no issues until the monitor sleeps again.



I’m pretty interested in this issue. Aside from setting it to 240Hz, are there any other ways to work around it? For example, something similar to how it behaves on FW V1.1.6.

I’d also like to understand whether this issue already existed in V1.0.6, or if it started showing up after updating to V1.1.4. I’m currently on V1.0.6, so I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth updating the firmware.

Could you also share the exact steps to reproduce the issue? That would help me evaluate whether I should proceed with the FW update.

I've been using the Asus XG27AQNGV since the first week of January and I haven't experienced any fatigue.
